An one-year funded
Post-Doc position ("Assegno di ricerca") is available at
DIBRIS - University of Genoa, (Italy).
The deadline for application is 14 June 2019 at
12.00 (Italian time) and the fellowship should
start in Sept-Oct 2019.
Research activity: In the last few years our
research group developed the system ITACA (Intelligent
TrAffic
ForeCAster), an artificial intelligence tool based on fuzzy
clustering and committees of neural networks able
to forecast traffic in the short term using data collected
from multiple sources. The forecasting horizon was
from 5 to 10 minutes in the future. This project will
concern the further development of the predictive model
of short-term urban traffic using a machine learning
approach, the engineering of the software developed,
and the experimentation on the field with a pilot in the
Municipality of Genoa.
Required qualification: Machine learning and computational intelligence for data streams; Signal analysis; Computer programming
Required degree:
Master in Computer Science, Electronics,
Telecommunications, Physics,
or Mathematics.
We are looking for a
self-motivated candidate, interested in
the mathematical aspects of her/his research, in the
development of new methods for intelligent data analysis, and
in technology transfer, and skilled in programming
and in thorough experimental data analysis.
Candidates are invited to
send their cv, a letter of motivation, and the
name/email-addresses of some referees to Prof. Francesco
