Annual Reports

  • 2006
    • In this first year of PhD. activity I focused my studies on Grid Computing and its issues. In the first part of the year I studied deeply Grid middlewares and standards while, in the second part, I started to consider the Grid scheduling problem: after examining the open issues and the current state of art, I began to think at a possible idea to improve the quality of such metascheduler for classes of application with predictability constraints like Soft Real Time ones: I'm studying a possible architectural solution based on Agent technology.
  • 2007
    • In this second year, I focused my studies in the definition of an architecture (SoRTGrid) that constitutes a Grid Framework granting the management of time constraints over common Grid scenarios. More specifically, it offers services at the resource owner's side for sharing resources and a discovery system to retrieve resources within a deadline at user's side. At present, the main architectural design is complete, main interactions among different parts of the architecture are modeled and some communication and discovery protocols have been defined.
