Ontology Matching via Upper Ontologies

This page, still under construction, will describe our project on Ontology Matching via Upper Ontologies. The source code of our matching algorithms will be made available, as well as links to the matched ontologies and to the upper ontologies that we used. Currently, we only provide the reference alignments computed by hand for running the tests described in "Exploiting DOLCE, SUMO, and OpenCyc to Boost the Ontology Matching Process", V. Mascardi, A. Locoro, P. Rosso, Technical Report DISI-TR-08-08, Computer Science Department, DISI, Università degli Studi di Genova, Italy, 2008.
An extended version of this technical report has been submitted to a journal.

You may download the .zip file containing all reference alignments here .

You may download the OWL source of the subject ontology that we used in our experiments here . We downloaded this ontology from http://www.library.yale.edu/ontologies/ at the beginning of 2008, but it is no longer available there.

The reference alignments and the alignment methods via upper ontologies have been created by Angela Locoro, who also run the experiments.
