Research interests
My main focus of research is currently the analysis of medical images, in particular the study and the development of effective metal artifact suppressing algorithms to improve the quality of cone-beam CT images.
During my PhD, I worked on developing an architecture of classifiers for image annotation and retrieval.
Relatively to these applications my main research interests, from the algorithmic viewpoint are image segmentation algorithms, clustering and classification techniques.
I was also interested in studying region-based feature extraction approaches and image similarity measures designed for image retrieval and annotation purposes.
My research was also focused on the problem of learning from examples (within the general framework of ill-posed inverse problems) in order to develope new learning algorithms.
