Annual Reports
- 2007: Thesis proposal
During the first year of my PhD I mainly worked on the Software Pakage AIRY-LN, a software conceived to be used for reconstruction images which will provide the interferometer LINC\NIRVANA. The first version of the software has been redacted in the first semester and continually updated till the end of the year. The performance of AIRY-LN (in terms of reconstruction algorithm) has been improved with respect to the previous version of the software implementing algorithms for the so called "de-rotation" of LN images as well as a technique to compensate the boundary effects (a presentation of the work has been proposed at the Padua observatory, during a LINC\NIRVANA consortium meeting). AIRY-LN has been used in a "Simulation Project" (funded by INAF) in collaboration with the Rome and Bologne observatories. This project is very important to understand the capabilities of the LINC\NIRVANA and of the Software Package AIRY-LM too. For the last three months of the year I have been guest of the Prof. Henri Lanteri and Marcel Carbillet at the University of Nice. During this period I studied a new approach to generate reconstruction algorithms and I improved my "astrophysical" background attending a course about Adaptive Optic and the relative software to simulate it.
