By plane |
The nearest airport is
the International Airport "Cristoforo Colombo" of Genova (GOA), which
is well connected to the main European cities.
Santa Margherita Ligure is located about 25 Kilometers from Genova
and it is connected by train from the Brignole railway station
of Genova.
To reach the Brignole railway station from the airport, you can
either take a taxi or a shuttle bus.

takes about 20 minutes, and will cost you about 30,000 Italian Lira. |

is called AMT-Volabus, it stops
in front of the airport and leaves in coincidence with (a group of) flight arrivals.
In other words: one departure serves two or three flights, and it usually waits
if the last flight is late.
It takes about 30-35 minutes to reach Brignole, and will cost you 4,000 Italian Lira.
The bus ticket is sold on board.
Please notice: On the way from the Airport to Brignole,
the shuttle bus makes an intermediate stop
in Piazza Principe, the other main railway station
of Genova. Do not exit there.
You must exit at Brignole,
which is the "Capolinea" (Terminal) of the bus.

Once you have reached Genova Brignole, take a train to
Santa Margherita Ligure. The cost of the ticket is about 5,000 Italian Lira.
The frequency of the trains vary from
half-an-hour / one hour depending on the time of the day.
The trip takes about 20 minutes.
Another possibility is to reach Milano by plane, then by bus
to Milano Centrale railway station, and then take a train to Genova
(see next paragraph).
