| Abstract |
Agent-based computing is a relatively new paradigm for software development.
Methodologies for agent-oriented software development have loosely fallen into two camps -
extending existing methodologies such as UML with agent extensions (e.g. AUML), or developing
a new methodology with agent concepts, e.g. GAIA. This seminar will describe agent-oriented software
engineering efforts in the Intelligent Agent Lab
at the University of Melbourne in Australia. I will present ROADMAP, a framework for building open,
intelligent and adaptive systems, and describe some projects using ROADMAP, and the REBEL CASE
toolfor assisting. ROADMAP is currently being merged with
the methodology Prometheus being developed at neighbouring RMIT University. |
