| Abstract |
In modern hospitals a large amount of digital medical data is
produced. Computer Science, and in particular Image Processing and
Computer Vision, can be successfully applied to extract information
from these data, helping the medical community to build improved
methods for diagnosis, surgical planning, surgical simulation and
workflow management. In this seminar a short overview on the field
is given and a few medical image processing methods (model
reconstruction, CT texture analysis) and simulation/visualization
applications developed at Center for Research Development and
Advanced Studies in Sardinia (CRS4) and at the University of
Cagliari are presented. |
