Title:
Geometric Modeling of Spatial Entities at Multiple Levels of
Resolution
Abstract.
The representation of spatial data at different resolution is a topic
of relevant interest in spatial information theory. In particular, we
consider applications within geographic systems, where representations
of topographic maps at different levels of accuracy/detail is a major
issue. We will describe a few models proposed in the literature as
well as a new model in which metric aspects concerning changes in
accuracy can be controlled separately from topological aspects related
to changes in detail.
