Title: Matching Features in Geographic Information Systems

Abstract. Decision support systems cannot yet take full advantage of the wealth of geo-spatial data that is accumulating on the Web. We address the problem of matching features from multiple, error-prone, and possibly contradictory spatial databases. In addtion to matching the individual attributes of the features, we match their spatial context by using the concepts of proximity graphs and landmarks. Initial experiments using examples drawn from urban maps will be presented.
