The closest airport is Ronchi dei Legionari, known as Trieste airport. From this airport there are shuttle busses in connection with all domestic flights. It takes about one hour to reach Udine (Ticket to be taken on the bus costs about Lit. 12.000).
There are very good international connections throught the Venice airport (Marco Polo). From this airport you may easly reach Udine by train using the closest railway station of Mestre (NOT Venezia railway station). Mestre railway station is connected by bus to the Marco Polo airport (ask for the bus to Mestre, NOT to Venezia, piazzale Roma). It takes about 20-30 minutes to reach the railway station.
Udine is one of the main stops on the railway line Venezia - Vienna. There are trains leaving for Udine almost every hour. Tickets cost about 12.000 Lit. and it takes about two hours.
